Amazon Kids just posted the trailer for An American Girl Story: Summer Camp, Friends for Life, which will be released 6/9/17 on Amazon Prime Video.  In the trailer, you can see some of the hand-drawn frame by frame animation of doves and girls that I made for the show.  The protagonist character, Z, makes flip-book animations as a creative outlet.  So I got to make the drawings, which were then printed out and assembled to be Z’s flip-books.  I’ve actually never made a flip-book animation before, so the whole process was a challenge, but I really enjoyed diving into an animation style I’m not as comfortable with.  And I got to work with some of my favorite people again from my Gortimer days at Amazon, so that was fantastic.  As a parent, I really think Amazon is ahead of the other networks in terms of the original programming they’re producing, and I’m always proud to work with them again.  I’m looking forward to seeing the finished special in it’s entirety, and showing it to my daughter (who has an American Girl doll of her own).
